Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced attorney to join its legal team as lead counsel for the development and operation of autonomous vehicles and robotics solutions for Amazon’s last mile delivery operations.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of technology and complex regulatory frameworks, supporting one of Amazon's most innovative initiatives in transforming last mile logistics.

Qualifications

10+ years of post bar admission legal experience.
Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent.
Experience with autonomous vehicles and robotics law is preferred.
Experience with regulatory compliance for federal and state vehicle regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

Serve as primary legal counsel for autonomous vehicle and robotics initiatives.
Advise on federal and state regulatory compliance for autonomous vehicles, including NHTSA and DOT requirements.
Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements including technology licensing and vendor contracts.
Partner with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, product management, and public policy.
Develop scalable legal processes and frameworks to support rapid innovation and deployment across jurisdictions.
Manage relationships with outside counsel on regulatory matters and litigation.
Advise on AI, data privacy, cybersecurity, and IP issues related to autonomous systems.
Support risk assessment and mitigation for novel technology deployments.
Collaborate with public policy teams on regulatory engagement and advocacy.
