Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as Lead Counsel on Meta's legal team, focused on monetization, user controls, and transparency for AI-driven advertising products. You will provide strategic legal counsel to product, engineering, and business teams, operating at the intersection of privacy, consumer protection, and emerging AI regulation.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and active US state bar membership.
• 5+ years as practicing attorney, in law firm or in-house/government.
• Experience advising on digital advertising, AI-driven products across jurisdictions.
• Ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience applying data protection, consumer protection, or competition law to technology products.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive legal counsel to product, engineering, and monetization teams on AI-powered ads and user controls.
• Analyze monetization features and AI capabilities for legal risk across multiple jurisdictions.
• Develop legal frameworks for monetization use cases, including generative AI in advertising.
• Coordinate cross-functional legal strategy with privacy, regulatory, commercial, and litigation teams.
• Collaborate with policy, communications, and partnerships teams on regulatory issues affecting Meta's advertising and AI monetization products.
• Support compliance initiatives related to global AI regulations, advertising standards, and data protection laws.
• Identify emerging legal risks in AI monetization and propose scalable mitigations.
• Engage with cross-functional stakeholders to drive legally sound product decisions at scale.
• Develop and maintain legal guidance and documentation for monetization and AI product teams.
