Job summary

Primoris Energy Services is seeking a Lead Project Controls Cost Analyst to provide expert cost analysis, forecasting, and reporting for complex energy projects, ensuring financial control and project success across the portfolio.

You will develop cost control systems, manage budgets and forecasts, review invoices and change orders, and mentor junior analysts while leveraging Primavera P6, EcoSys, and SAP to drive accurate cost data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 8-10 years of experience in project controls with a focus on cost analysis and forecasting in energy/oil & gas/heavy industrial sectors.
• Proven experience leading cost control on complex, multi-million dollar projects.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, EcoSys, or similar enterprise PM systems.
• Advanced Excel skills with pivot tables, formulas, and data visualization.
• Strong GAAP and cost accounting knowledge.
• PMP or AACE certification is highly desirable.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain cost control systems and procedures for large-scale energy projects.
• Prepare detailed project cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts with variance analysis and mitigation.
• Conduct cost variance analysis and develop corrective action plans.
• Generate timely cost reports, progress reports, and financial summaries for management and clients.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and accounting to align cost objectives.
• Lead and mentor junior cost analysts in cost control methodologies.
• Develop and maintain project WBS and CBS structures.
• Review and validate invoices, change orders, and subcontracts for cost accuracy.
• Utilize Primavera P6, EcoSys, and SAP to manage cost data.
• Participate in project reviews and risk assessment meetings with financial insights.
