Job summary

Primoris Services Corporation seeks a Lead Project Controls Cost Analyst to lead cost analysis, forecasting, and reporting for complex power construction projects. You will ensure financial control and support project success across Primoris Energy Services.

The role requires a strong background in earned value management, cost forecasting, and cost variance analysis, with expertise in Primavera P6, EcoSys, and Viewpoint.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 8-10 years of project controls experience with earn value, cost analysis and forecasting in power/energy/heavy industrial construction.
• Proven leadership of cost control on large, multi-million projects.
• Expert in Primavera P6, EcoSys or similar enterprise PM systems.
• Advanced Excel skills with pivots, formulas and data visualization.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cost control systems and procedures including EV/Change Management for large industrial construction projects.
• Prepare detailed forecasts and identify variances with mitigation plans.
• Conduct cost variance analysis, root cause identification and corrective actions.
• Generate cost reports, progress reports, and financial summaries for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with PM, superintendents, field engineers, procurement and accounting on cost objectives.
• Lead and mentor junior cost analysts on cost control methodologies.
• Develop and maintain project WBS and CBS.
• Review invoices, change orders and subcontracts for cost accuracy.
• Utilize Primavera P6, EcoSys, Viewpoint to analyze cost data.
• Participate in project reviews and risk assessment meetings with financial insights.

The Lead Project Controls Cost Analyst will be responsible for providing expert cost analysis, forecasting, and reporting during Construction for complex industrial power projects, ensuring financial control and supporting project success for Primoris Energy Services.

Job Responsibilities:

• - Maintain comprehensive cost control systems and procedures, including Earned Value Management, Change Management, Cost Control and Forecasting, for large-scale industrial construction projects.
• - Prepare detailed project forecasts, including identifying potential variances and recommending mitigation strategies.
• - Conduct thorough cost variance analysis, identifying root causes and developing corrective action plans.
• - Generate accurate and timely cost reports, progress reports, and financial summaries for project management, clients, and executive leadership.
• - Collaborate with project management, superintendents, field engineers, procurement, and accounting teams to ensure alignment on cost objectives and reporting.
• - Lead and mentor junior cost analysts, providing guidance and support in cost control methodologies.
• - Develop and maintain project WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) and CBS (Cost Breakdown Structure).
• - Review and validate invoices, change orders, and subcontracts for cost accuracy and adherence to project budgets.
• - Utilize project controls software (e.g., Primavera P6, EcoSys, Viewpoint) to manage and analyze project cost data.
• - Participate in project reviews and risk assessment meetings, providing financial insights and recommendations.

Qualifications:

• - Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• - Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in project controls, with a strong focus on earn value management, cost analysis and forecasting within the power, energy, or heavy industrial construction sectors.
• - Proven experience leading cost control efforts on large, complex, multi-million dollar projects.
• - Expert proficiency in project controls software such as Primavera P6, EcoSys, or similar enterprise project management systems.
• - Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data visualization.
• - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal).
• - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• - PMP or AACE certification (e.g., CCP, EVP) is highly desirable.
• - Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
