Job summary

Rand Whitney Industries is seeking a Lead Corrugator Relief Operator in Worcester, MA. You will lead on-the-floor training, coach operators, and ensure safe, efficient production in the corrugator department.

You will work second shift, manage staffing coverage, review schedules, and collaborate with plant leadership to meet quality and waste goals while adhering to safety policies.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-4 years of machine operation experience in a corrugated manufacturing facility required.
• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16".
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Ability to lead a small team.
• Ability to understand basic mathematics including decimals.

The Lead Operator is responsible for completing their normally assigned tasks as well as higher level responsibilities assigned by the company outlined below. # DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Lead on-the-floor training for all new hires or transfers within the department. This includes all machines or job functions within the department* Provide coaching for experienced operators who fail to follow proper protocols or are not operating at peak efficiency* Act as a subject matter expert for your department answering questions on operations from other employees* Work closely with plant leadership on ensuring implementation of new processes and procedures the company puts in place* Report any and all efficiency, quality, or production concerns to their department supervisors and managers* Model compliance with company policies and procedures, including safe and efficient machine operation* Assist in coordinating shift handovers including ensuring a clean production floor and informing their supervisor/manager of incomplete jobs* Provide coverage for breaks and absences in the corrugator department.* Review work schedule, check equipment and supplies required to perform the work scheduled. Prepare for operations, check and/or perform any necessary completion of work from the previous shift.* Clean area throughout the shift, secure all equipment and machinery, and complete all required paperwork.* Help assist or operate machinery to expected performance levels.
