Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a lead nurse to oversee shift operations, assign tasks, and mentor nursing staff within a correctional healthcare setting. The role supports compliance initiatives and drives improvement across multiple clinics.

Ideal candidates have RN licensure in good standing, BLS/CPR/First Aid, and experience managing high-volume workflows in correctional or ambulatory care environments. Flexibility for day/night shifts and local travel is required.

Qualifications

• Two years of RN experience in a hospital or ambulatory care setting.
• Active, unrestricted RN license issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing or a multistate compact.
• Ability to work inside a jail and handle long-standing physical activity.
• Ability to work high-volume environments with diverse patient populations.
• Willingness to work day or night shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Active BLS, CPR, and First Aid certifications with in-person testing upon hire.
• Ability to travel or float to multiple clinical locations within a 5‑mile radius.
• Background checks and safety screenings are required for access to the jail.

Responsibilities

• Lead nurse on shift and design clinic assignments and duties for nursing staff.
• Support Nurse Manager with clinic compliance initiatives.
• Drive operational improvement and change management in clinics.
• Mentor and guide ITR nursing staff.
• Orient new staff to responsibilities, policies, procedures, and equipment.
