Job summary

BlueSteps Connect is seeking a LEAD Coordinator to support the day-to-day implementation of its LEAD program across municipalities in Allegheny County. The role ensures the project stays on schedule and aligned with objectives, reporting to the Director of Public Safety and Wellbeing.

Responsibilities

Job description

the client is seeking a LEAD Coordinator to support the day-to-day implementation of its Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) program across municipalities in Allegheny County. LEAD is a pre-arrest diversion approach that connects residents to mental health and substance use harm-reduction-based case management rather than arrest. The Coordinator will work under the direction of the Director of Public Safety and Wellbeing, helping keep the program on schedule and aligned with its objectives.

Key responsibilities include coordinating daily LEAD activities across participating municipalities; serving as the day-to-day point of contact for program partners such as case managers, local law enforcement liaisons, and service providers; and providing logistical and administrative support for the county-wide LEAD policy coordinating group, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, keeping minutes, and tracking follow-ups. The Coordinator will also collect and organize program data, prepare routine reports, and raise implementation issues to the Director, while supporting LEAD expansion activities through scheduling, materials, and follow-up as directed.

The role calls for 1–3 years of experience in program coordination, community-based work, harm reduction, human services, or a related field, along with strong organization and coordination skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and partners. The Coordinator should have good verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable working with a range of partners, including people with lived experience with substance use or mental health issues, and should be familiar with harm reduction principles or willing to learn. Proficiency with common productivity tools is expected, along with the ability to travel across Allegheny County communities; qualifications may be met through a high school diploma, associate degree, or equivalent experience, and additional preference may be given to those with experience working with local governments in Allegheny County or with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
