The Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a full-time cook to support meal service by preparing meals, maintaining kitchen standards, and helping volunteers in a mission-driven environment.

You will perform basic prep, ensure food safety, manage station setup and breaks, and work with the team to deliver welcoming, nourishing meals while adhering to FIFO and sanitation guidelines. The role requires at least two years in a kitchen and a willingness to learn; must lift 50+ lbs

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic food preparation skills; willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to sit, stand and lift 50+ lbs required.
• At least 2+ years of experience working in a kitchen.
• At least 2+ years of customer service experience.

• Perform basic prep tasks (washing, peeling, chopping, portioning).
• Complete daily prep tasks with 100% on-time completion.
• Maintain workstation cleanliness.
• Set up and break down stations properly.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries using FIFO.
• Communicate clearly with team and leadership.
• Complete all required training.
• Engage positively with volunteers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Supervise volunteers with routine check-ins.
