Job summary

Harmony Senior Services seeks a Cook for its Nashville community to prepare meals per approved menus and supervise dietary staff when needed. Maintain a clean kitchen and follow safety policies while serving residents with dietary accommodations.

The role supports keeping accurate temperatures, storing leftovers properly, and collaborating with the Dining Services Director and staff; flexibility for evenings and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in dining services.
• Must be Serv-Safe certified, or willing to complete within 60 days.
• Basic understanding of food service operations and other dietary duties.
• Ability to read, write and perform simple calculations; learn quickly.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present menu items per standard recipes.
• Supervise dietary staff in absence of director.
• Maintain clean, orderly kitchen and work area.
• Report faulty equipment and unsafe conditions.
• Record food temperatures and ensure proper storage of leftovers.
• Ensure recipes and portions meet dietary needs and regulations.
• Participate in required in-services and staff meetings.
