Job summary

American Senior Communities in Danville is seeking a Cook for the day shift to prepare meals that meet residents' nutritional needs, following tested menus and safety standards.

You will lead kitchen tasks, help with tray assembly, maintain a clean workspace, and ensure proper handling and storage of food according to regulations.

Experience in institutional or healthcare food service is preferred; sanitation certifications are a plus, and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1–3 years related experience preferred.
• Preferred: Sanitation/Safe Food Handling certification; may be earned on the job.
• Healthcare/institutional food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares food to meet residents’ nutritional needs.
• Cooks or prepares palatable, nutritious meals in required quantities.
• Leads kitchen staff with food prep, tray assembly, and storage of supplies.
