Job summary

Bass Pro Shops is seeking a skilled cook to prepare and portion foods for the resort’s food and beverage outlets. The role requires proficiency in soups, stocks, grilling and roasts, plus safe knife handling and efficient use of kitchen equipment.

You will help lead the kitchen in the absence of the Sous-Chef, follow the established chain of command, train new cooks, and support cleanliness and operations. This is a full-time position with benefits at Bass Pro Shops.

Qualifications

• Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Preferred Degree: Associate Degree in culinary field or fifth year college or university program certificate
• Certificate(s) or License(s): Valid Driver’s License
• Years of experience: two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion foods for the resort’s food and beverage outlets.
• Solid background in making soups, stocks, grilling and roasts with varied methods.
• Handle knives excellently and operate all kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Be able to assume control of the kitchen in the absence of a Sous-Chef.
• Follow the kitchen chain of command; i.e. Chefs, Cook I, Cook II, Cook III.
• Take an active role in the training of new cooks.
• Assist the Chef in maintaining the cleanliness of the Kitchen operations.
