Job summary

The Lawrence Hall of Science at UC Berkeley is seeking an AM Cook to join the on-site kitchen team. You will prepare, portion, and serve a variety of meals for the campus cafe and events, ensuring high quality and HACCP compliance.

Ideal candidates have proven experience in food preparation, can work independently, and may lead production with supervision. This is a full-time, non-exempt role with UC benefits and an hourly wage ranging from $26.74 to $31.35.

Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation and general maintenance in a kitchen.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic calculations.
• Ability to work independently and to prepare multiple menu items for a meal.

Responsibilities

• Prepare assigned menu items following recipes and production sheets for meals.
• Maintain HACCP standards and sanitize work areas.
• Greet customers and assist with service in a fast-paced environment.
• Lead and coordinate kitchen staff during peak periods.
• Prepare, package, and deliver Discovery Store items daily; manage store items and restock.
