Job summary

Auburn Oaks Care Center Aloe Holdings, LLC is seeking a cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. You will maintain a safe, clean cooking area, prepare meals for residents, and ensure portions follow menus.

This role requires coordination with dietary staff and reporting concerns to leadership. The position emphasizes flexibility, safe food handling, and the ability to work with various departments to keep residents well-nourished and comfortable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for at least 1 year preferred.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides.
• Prepare pureed foods.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator and/or Director of Nurses.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Supervise in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
