Job summary

The Meadows on University is seeking a cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. You will maintain cleanliness, cook meals in large quantities, and follow prepared menus and portion controls.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a ServSafe certificate, and at least one year of hospital or long-term care cooking experience. Strong reading, math, and teamwork skills are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ServSafe Certificate required/maintained.
• One year experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred.
• Ability to read and follow technical procedures/recipes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals in large quantities and follow menus/portion guides.
• Record food temperatures and prepare pureed foods as needed.
• Assist in serving meals and supervise in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator/Director of Nurses.
