The Indie in Huntsville, AL is hiring a Lead Cook / Chef de Partie to join a dynamic food & beverage team. You will plan and prepare diverse menu items, mentor kitchen staff, and ensure top-quality plating and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Expect opportunities to lead banquet service, coordinate with catering teams, and contribute to menu planning while maintaining a positive, professional work ethic and flexible shifts across days, nights, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year cooking experience; leadership experience preferred.
• ServSafe Manager certification required.
• Ability to work independently with professionalism and diplomacy.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform kitchen tasks.
• Availability for day, night, weekend, and flexible shifts (8 or 10 hour).

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare various food items and meals following proper food handling and safety guidelines.
• Ensure quality, consistency, and beautiful presentation of all dishes.
• Lead and train kitchen staff while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
• Manage inventory, ordering, and waste control using FIFO food rotation.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Communicate professionally with other departments, guests, and vendors.
