Job summary

Aramark Correctional Services seeks a Lead Cook to prepare food using standardized recipes and production guidelines while following food safety and sanitation procedures. The role may supervise staff and delegate duties, with responsibilities varying by location to meet client requirements.

You will safely operate ovens, grills, slicers, and other equipment, train staff, ensure proper storage and sanitation, and maintain positive guest service while upholding Aramark policies.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisor experience in a related role preferred.
• Experience as a cook or related role required.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision required.
• Proven knowledge of basic principles of food preparation and cooking methods.
• Food safety certification required.
• Demonstrates basic math and counting skills.
• Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and assigns daily work activities to staff and supervises completion of tasks.
• Trains and guides staff on job duties and safety procedures.
• Cooks and prepares food following production guidelines and recipes.
• Sets up workstation with ingredients and equipment.
• Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling.
• Safely uses all food utensils including knives.
• Operates ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
• Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses various cooking methods.
• Arranges, garnishes, and portions food following guidelines.
• Stores food properly following safety policies.
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas and equipment.
• Maintains excellent customer service with a positive attitude.
