Job summary

The Salvation Army in Omaha North Corps is seeking a Lead Cook to prepare wholesome meals primarily from donated foods and kitchen pantry stock. You will lead kitchen staff and ensure all meals meet safety and quality standards.

You will collaborate with the General Manager to plan schedules, manage production, and maintain cleanliness and food safety. This full-time role requires ServSafe and background checks, with a strong focus on community service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years in the food industry with supervisory experience.
• Food service management degree or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan menus based on seasonal ingredients and inventory.
• Source quality ingredients from trusted suppliers.
• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following recipes.
