Medical City Plano is seeking a Lead Cook to supervise kitchen operations in the absence of the Chef and to prepare meals for patients and the campus retail and events. The role requires strong leadership, accuracy with recipes, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Food handler permit or ServSafe certificate within 60 days of hire
• Able to read recipe, follow recipe directions, read thermometers and compute measurements
• 3 years cooking in a healthcare facility, school, hotel catering or restaurant
• Ability to operate slicer, oven, fryer, grill, etc
• Read and follow production sheets

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main kitchen resource in the Chef's absence and answer questions about the kitchen and food production
• Work a kitchen station to prepare food for patients, the retail cafeteria, Meals on Wheels, and special events
• Maintain high standards of quality and safety in all food preparation
• Demonstrate professionalism in dealing with patients, guests, and colleagues
