Job summary

Pearl of Hinsdale is seeking a Cook to perform dietary department tasks, supervise staff, and ensure meals are prepared correctly and on time. The role involves keeping sanitation high and supporting the Dietary Manager as needed.

Responsibilities include stocking, portioning, and serving meals, with flexibility in hours and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Serve Safe certification is required or can be earned within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School or Culinary Tech Graduate.
• Ability to read, understand and follow recipes, production sheets, diet orders and tray tickets.
• Understand after training on computer software system for resident information and preferences.
• Must be Serve Safe Certified or able to earn within the first 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and portions hot and cold menu items according to production sheet and counts.
• Serving resident meals according to correct meal service times.
• Coverage for staff who call out due to illness.
• Maintain highest sanitation standards per state health regulations.
• Track inventory and communicate low supplies or place orders.
• Lift up to 50lbs and assist with staff supervision as needed.
