Job summary

NANA Regional Corporation is seeking a Cook for the Pioneer Home kitchen in Anchorage, AK. The role focuses on the preparation, production, and presentation of a variety of foods for an Assisted Living setting.

The position requires adherence to Food Safety Standards, a high school diploma or GED, and at least one year of general food service experience, with immunization requirements to be met. Staff may participate in training, supervision, and daily operation of service lines.

Qualifications

• Must have High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have Alaska Food Handlers Card or ServSafe certification contingent upon 30 days of hire.
• At least one (1) year of general food service experience.
• This contract requires employees to have the following immunizations: TB. Successful candidates must be able to provide immunization records for this and/or be willing to take the vaccination if offered the job.
• Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Performs all main line food production duties.
• Prepares food as indicated by par level sheets and in accordance with Nutritional Services and Health Department standards.
• Reviews the needs of the day with assigned supervisor(s), completes production sheets, verifies supply needs and availability.
• Is responsible for quantity and quality control in food production as well as overall sanitation of assigned areas.
• Assists in training of food service personnel.
• Oversees food serving lines and coffee bars, ensuring food items are properly stocked.
• Follows all Food Safety Standards (HACCP).
• Completes all freezer, cooler and warming temperature and sanitation logs.
• May assist other food service personnel at any given time.
• This position has supervisory responsibilities.
