The Grand Hyatt Deer Valley Hotel is located in the renowned Deer Valley ski resort, approximately 40 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport. This hotel is part of a new development featuring 17 ski lifts, around 1,600 residential units, 8 hotels with approximately 1,350 rooms, about 250,000 square feet of conference and retail space, and one of the world's largest "ski beaches".

The Grand Hyatt comprises 436 luxury accommodations, including 359 guest rooms, 55 residences, and 22 suites, with roughly 30,000 square feet of versatile indoor meeting space. Amenities include a lobby-level three-meal restaurant and bar, signature bar, pool and après-ski grill, coffee bistro, large outdoor event terrace, pool, three whirlpools, kids' club, and fitness area.

The Lead Cook role requires comprehensive skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations, with the ability to produce consistent, high-quality products that meet and surpass guest expectations promptly. Responsibilities include monitoring food production, quality, staffing, and training. The ideal candidate should have culinary education, cost control, communication, organizational skills, guest interaction experience, and culinary teaching abilities.

The primary goal of the Lead Cook is to manage departmental operations, uphold quality standards, and support the culinary team to ensure a positive guest experience.

Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of kitchen operations
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and relationship skills
  • Experience in training, basic financial management, and customer service
  • A genuine desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to produce consistent products efficiently
  • Strong training and communication skills
  • Hotel experience preferred
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Current alcohol server certification and/or food service permit as required by local or state regulations; additional certifications as needed
