  • Manage the daily operations of the camp food and dining services including coordinating activities between the kitchen and the dining room.

  • Supervise the scheduling and performance of the kitchen assistants.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager, or Camp Director.

Description

Essential Functions:

  • Manage the daily operations of the camp food and dining services including coordinating activities between the kitchen and the dining room.
  • Oversee the menu, inventory and ordering of food, equipment, and supplies, and arrange for the routine maintenance, sanitation, and upkeep of the camp kitchen, its equipment, and facilities.
  • Supervise the scheduling and performance of the kitchen assistants.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager, or Camp Director.

NOTE: This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions. It does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.Equipment used includes food preparation and cooking equipment, both manual and mechanical, and cleaning and dishwashing supplies and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in management or supervisory role in an institution or large food service setting.
  • SafeServ food safety certification.
  • Knowledge of and experience in food service: ordering, inventory, budgeting, food preparation, family-style serving, buffet serving, cleaning, and institutional kitchen equipment.
  • Able to perform physical aspects of the position, including:18 years of age as of the start of employment and eligible for work in the United States
    • Working long hours
    • Identify and respond to environmental and other hazards
    • Respond appropriately to situations requiring First Aid, and assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury)
    • Lift 50 pounds
  • 21+ with valid Driver's License preferred.
  • Handles self in a professional manner. Works with integrity, discretion, and maintains confidentiality. Upholds a professional appearance.
  • Proven ability to have initiative, good judgments and ability to make decisions independently.
