Job summary

Tigg's Canteen Services Inc is seeking a Permanent Full-Time Lead Cook for the La Porte County Jail in La Porte, IN. The right candidate will lead meal prep, read and follow recipes, and maintain kitchen operations in a structured environment.

Flexibility to work weekends and holidays, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and willingness to obtain facility clearance are required. We offer a competitive wage and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and a 401K.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in food service preferred; training available.
• Willingness to work weekends/holidays on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Lead, instruct, and assist with meal preparations including food preparation, baking, cooking, and clean-up.
• Read and follow company recipes.
• Maintain kitchen operations in a structured correctional environment.

Requirements include:

• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts - days and hours (between 9:00am - 6:30pm)
• Clearance approval into the facility

Previous food service or kitchen experience would be a plus, but we can train the right person!
