Job summary

Tigg's Canteen Services is hiring a Permanent Full-Time Lead Cook for Jackson County Jail in Jackson, MI. You will supervise kitchen operations and coordinate meal preparation in a structured correctional setting.

The position offers starting pay of $21.00/hour with benefits including Medical, Dental & Vision, 401K, and Paid Time Off. Weekend and holiday shifts are required; we provide training where needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a structured correctional environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
• Shift availability from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
• Must be approved for facility clearance.

Responsibilities

• Leading, directing, and assisting inmates within the kitchen.
• Lead and assist with daily meal preparation.
• Prepare, bake, and cook meals according to company recipes.
• Help maintain a clean and organized kitchen.

Requirements

Previous food service or kitchen experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person!
