Meriwether Godsey is seeking a full-time Lead Cook responsible for leading the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals at a private co-educational college preparatory school in Gill, MA.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure quality and timely food production, maintaining freshness through batch-cooking.
  • Use made-from-scratch methods and keep accurate logs.
  • Assist Chef and collaborate with staff on recipes and menus.
  • Transport, set up, garnish, and break down food and supplies.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation standards, and HACCP protocols.
  • Train and develop other cooks in recipes and techniques.
  • Guide kitchen staff in safe equipment operation.
  • Conduct pre-production and service meetings; ensure standards are met during service.
  • Additional duties may include purchasing, quality assurance, and team management.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Formal culinary training or 4+ years culinary experience preferred.
  • ServSafe FPM certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Experience with high-volume contract food service required.
  • Experience with purchasing is a plus.
  • Strong professionalism, leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work at different locations and duties.
  • Knowledge of sustainable practices.
  • Ability to complete background checks and fingerprinting.
