Job summary

Dart Container is seeking a highly technical engineer to optimize paper converting and manufacturing processes across multiple facilities. You will lead major improvement projects, analyze data, develop SOPs, and mentor junior engineers, with travel to Mason, MI and other locations as needed.

Strong background in converting, packaging, plastics, or related continuous manufacturing environments is essential, along with excellent communication skills and a drive for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 6+ years' experience, or an Associate's with 12+ years' experience.
• Strong technical experience supporting converting operations and process optimization.
• Experience with SPC, SQC, 5S, 8D, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, Gage R&R and DOE.
• Advanced knowledge of converting, packaging, printing, plastics, thermoforming, injection molding, paper or similar continuous manufacturing environments.
• Ability to lead and manage large, complex projects with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to obtain a valid driver's license and passport.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage large, complex engineering projects to improve manufacturing processes, equipment performance, and process control systems.
• Coordinate project activities with engineers, technicians, designers, and cross-functional teams.
• Lead investigations and root cause analyses to implement sustainable manufacturing solutions.
• Conduct feasibility studies for fabrication, assembly, processing improvements.
• Troubleshoot equipment and processes, evaluate options, implement solutions to improve performance.
• Develop and maintain SOPs for equipment and processes.
• Collaborate with production to improve equipment, processes, product quality, and efficiency.
• Create test plans, analyze data, and support implementation of improvements.
• Develop innovative solutions to manufacturing challenges and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor other engineers and serve as technical resource for processes and equipment.
