Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Continuous Manufacturing Group is seeking a Converting Packaging SME (Specialist) to tackle challenging problems in the tissue and paper products converting space. This is a home-based role with significant travel (50–80%) across North America, working with operations and engineering teams to improve asset performance and reliability.

You will support startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and handoff of converting assets, contribute to product portfolio rollouts, and mentor

Qualifications

Knowledge and expertise of design, construction, operations, and maintenance of assets in the converting space.
5+ years of experience in converting packaging equipment used in tissue, towel, napkins, plates & bowls manufacturing.
Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

Support projects through check-outs, start-up, commissioning, handoff and troubleshooting of converting assets.
Support commercialization and product portfolio rollouts as a technical resource.
Build a technical solutions capability through internal and external partners.
Identify gaps in current technologies and provide solutions to improve efficiencies.
Coach operations by building internal technical skills and improving asset performance.
Scale improvements through knowledge sharing across assets and platforms.
Interact with and learn platform equipment technologies and apply knowledge across the business.
