Job summary

Ascent Aerospace, LLC is seeking a Controls Hardware Engineer to lead the hardware design for automation control systems. The role involves sizing power distribution, motion and PLC components, and working with the mechanical team to ensure proper motor sizing and drives.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of servo motion design experience, knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical, and familiarity with PLCs such as Allen Bradley or Siemens, with ITAR compliance considerations.

Qualifications

• US Person required under ITAR compliance.
• BA or BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• 2+ years in control system electrical design.
• 5+ years designing servo-controlled motion applications.
• Experience with Aerospace Automated Equipment integration preferred.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD (Electrical preferred) and PLCs such as Allen Bradley or Siemens.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware design for automation control systems.
• Size and specify power distribution, motion, and PLC components.
• Collaborate with mechanical team on motor sizing and drives.
• Create electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Provide information to installation teams for quality implementation.
• Coordinate with vendors on electrical hardware and schedules.
• Communicate effectively with customers and suppliers.
• Develop company standards to ensure consistent project execution.
