Job summary

Vulcan Elements seeks a Sr. Controls Engineer (FAT/CSV) to lead automation acceptance and commissioning for a 1 million square foot facility expansion in Durham, NC, moving to Benson, NC. You will own the program-wide FAT/SAT, author protocols, troubleshoot PLC code, and support robotics/vision systems integration.

The role requires deep expertise in industrial automation, Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and industrial networking; travel up to 50% during test campaigns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of automation and controls experience.
• Hands-on experience programming and commissioning Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs.
• Proven track record managing multi-vendor FAT/SAT campaigns and writing technical deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on programming, debugging, and commissioning of Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs.
• Develop and maintain PLC code structures, HMI screens, safety circuits, and network configurations.
• Coordinate FAT/SAT campaigns, generate standardized acceptance protocols, and manage punch lists.
