Job summary

VulcanForms Inc. in Devens, MA, seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of automated machinery for production.

You will integrate equipment into the VF SCADA system for data acquisition, monitoring, and UI, and define the architecture across PLC, HMI, SCADA, and MES layers. The role requires 7+ years of experience in automated processes, expertise in PLC/SCADA, and strong troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• BS required in EE/ME/Robotics or related field.
• 7+ years as controls engineer in automated processes.
• Advanced experience designing/building automation control systems (PLC, SCADA).
• Strong troubleshooting of control systems, hardware, and components.
• UL508A knowledge for control panels.
• I&C instrumentation, field instrumentation, and installation.
• Proficient in P&IDs and process flow diagrams.
• Networking and systems integration knowledge (TCP/IP).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy automated machinery for VF production process.
• Lead integration of equipment into VF SCADA system for data acquisition and UI.
• Define architecture across PLC, HMI, SCADA, edge, historian, and MES.
• Develop specifications, parameter lists, and engineering documentation.
• Provide lifecycle support for OT systems and ensure secure interfaces.
• Coordinate with suppliers and system integrators during design, build, and install.
• Test, troubleshoot, and commission controls software and hardware.
• Lead system validation for reliable performance.
