Job summary

Thermo Systems is seeking a Controls Engineer III to lead start-up and commissioning of control systems at client sites in North America. The role focuses on FAT, PLC/HMI development, and field condition feedback, with emphasis on safety, reliability, and project delivery.

You will collaborate with project managers, electrical teams, and commissioning personnel to ensure successful execution across multi‑discipline projects. Occasional travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
• Typically 4+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or system integration environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering tasks or small project scopes.

Responsibilities

• Lead start-up and commissioning of control systems.
• Perform FAT for automation systems.
• Interpret P&IDs and electrical schematics; provide field condition feedback.
• Develop and implement HMI and PLC-based automation solutions.
• Review technical documentation for accuracy and quality.
• Deliver engineering tasks on schedule within project scope.
• Identify technical challenges and propose solutions.
