Job summary

Arrowhead Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced controls engineer to lead the controls portion of complex automation projects in Ohio. You will define architectures, develop PLC/HMI programs, and collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to deliver reliable systems.

You will also lead debugging, FAT, installation, and startup activities while working closely with customers and cross-functional teams to standardize reusable code and best practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on controls engineering experience in custom machinery or automation.
• Experience designing electrical control systems, schematics, panel layouts and I/O lists.
• Strong PLC and HMI programming experience with Allen-Bradley platforms.
• Solid motion control experience including servo systems and multi-axis motion.
• Experience leading controls work through full project lifecycle from concept to startup.

Responsibilities

• Own the controls portion of multiple automation projects from concept through acceptance.
• Define control architectures with mechanical and electrical engineers.
• Develop, test, and debug PLC, HMI, motion, and safety programs.
• Lead controls debug during panel build, FAT, installation, and startup.
• Work with customers during design reviews and FATs.
• Collaborate daily with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams.
• Apply and improve controls standards and reusable libraries.
• Troubleshoot complex issues using root-cause analysis.
• Work with robotics, vision systems, servo motion, networking, and automation software.
• Travel approximately 10% to support startups and implementations.
