Job summary

Linamar Corporation in Kentucky is looking for a Controls Engineer to lead and mentor Automation Technicians, solve complex automation problems, and drive short- and long-term plant goals.

You will maintain and troubleshoot Siemens and AB PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, vision/barcode systems, and Fanuc robotics; design control solutions, validate projects, and coordinate with equipment vendors to meet demanding production requirements while upholding quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in industrial control systems within manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of PLCs and single-loop controllers.
• Familiarity with Siemens and AB PLCs; GE Fanuc, CompactLogix, Mitsubishi networks.
• Knowledge of PLC/DCS configuration and machine control standards.
• Ability to read drawings and apply codes/standards to projects.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot industrial automation systems including Siemens/AB PLCs, HMIs, SCADA and vision/barcode systems.
• Modify and test manufacturing methods and equipment; confer with vendors.
• Develop control systems by studying product requirements and implementing projects.
• Troubleshoot Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, ProfiNet and other protocols.
• Coordinate automation changes for new products; mentor maintenance staff.
• Design and develop control systems for process, utilities, and safety equipment.
• Develop and maintain Linamar control systems standards.
• Comply with IATF/TS16949 and customer standards.
