Job summary

Lincoln Electric, a leader in industrial machinery and automation, seeks a Controls Project Engineer to own cradle-to-grave controls, electrical, motion control, and software for automation projects. You will work with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers to meet performance, quality, safety, and cost goals. The role requires 10+ years in automation, strong PLC motion control experience, and travel up to 30%.

U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related technical discipline.
Minimum 10 years of experience designing and implementing industrial automation, automated test, or custom machinery systems.
Strong experience with PLC platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell, Beckhoff, or equivalent.
Solid motion control experience including servo systems and multi-axis coordination.
Knowledge of machine safety standards and safety control systems.
Experience with electrical hardware design, panel layouts, and industrial controls.
Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to travel ~30%.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary technical owner for all controls and electrical aspects of assigned projects.
Lead controls engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle from concept to customer acceptance.
Define and maintain technical direction, controls architecture, and execution strategy.
Coordinate and lead multidisciplinary engineering teams to achieve project objectives.
Identify technical risks and develop mitigation plans during project execution.
Lead equipment startup, integration, commissioning, and validation activities.
Develop and execute FAT and SAT plans.
