Job summary

BD seeks a Lead Controls & Automation Engineer to drive electrical and controls innovation across machinery development projects. You will own the full control system lifecycle—from initial design through production deployment—building technical excellence across our global engineering and manufacturing network.

Responsibilities include designing URS for PLCs/HMI/motion control, collaborating with suppliers, championing safety, and guiding start-up through SAT.

Qualifications

• Controls engineering degree required.
• Experience with PLC/robotics and safety standards (CFR21 Part 11) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design & define URS for complex control systems including PLCs, HMIs, motion control, robotics.
• Lead development with machine suppliers for new equipment and modernization projects.
• Champion machine safety standards and coordinate FAT/SAT activities.
• Guide equipment from supplier commissioning to Site Acceptance Testing.
• Provide documentation and technical support across BD plants.
