Job summary

Hilcorp Energy Company seeks a Control Room Systems Engineer to lead CRM, CPM, and leak detection initiatives in Houston. You will partner with SCADA and Automation teams to ensure reliability, data quality, and regulatory compliance across control room operations.

The role requires a minimum of five years in pipeline/control room engineering, with strong data analytics and problem-solving skills. Occasional travel of 10–25% is expected to support field operations and audits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of engineering experience in pipeline operations and CRM regulations.
• Experience with SCADA systems and pipeline control applications.
• Experience supporting CPM or leak detection systems.
• Knowledge of PHMSA Control Room Management regulations (49 CFR Part 195 and/or Part 192).
• Experience with alarm management programs.
• Strong data analytics and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for pipeline control room operations, including system reliability and performance.
• Support system upgrades, testing, and implementation of new technologies.
• Partner with SCADA and Automation teams to support system reliability, data quality, alarm management, and improvements.
• Analyze operational data and system performance to support energy management and optimization.
• Lead or participate in root cause analyses for control room system failures.
• Develop corrective action plans and monitor completion.
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
• Lead alarm management initiatives, including alarm rationalization and KPI development.
• Lead periodic CRM, alarm management, and leak detection program assessments.
• Travel to support field operations, audits, training, and project activities (10–25%).
