Job summary

FRSTeam of Michigan is seeking an experienced Contents Operations Manager to oversee household contents restoration projects from start to finish. This leadership role coordinates restoration technicians, manages schedules, and ensures safety, quality, and an exceptional customer experience in Portage, MI.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in restoration, strong leadership and communication skills, and hands-on knowledge of electronics, textiles, furniture, and appliances.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of restoration industry experience preferred.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience required.
• Strong knowledge of residential contents restoration processes.
• Experience handling electronics, textiles, furniture, artwork, appliances, and specialty contents preferred.
• Familiarity with insurance restoration and property claims processes.
• Working knowledge of appliance installation and household systems.
• Proficiency with restoration software such as DASH, Encircle, Gratiis, Xactimate, or similar platforms is preferred.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership abilities.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally work in residential restoration environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage restoration projects from initial assignment through completion.
• Lead, coach, and develop restoration technicians while promoting teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate daily work schedules, staffing, equipment, and project priorities.
• Conduct project inspections to ensure quality standards and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain clear communication with homeowners, insurance adjusters, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Review project documentation for completeness and accuracy, including inventories, work orders, photographs, and project reports.
• Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Coordinate pack-outs, cleaning, deodorization, storage, contents manipulation, and pack-back activities.
• Oversee the installation and reconnection of household appliances and electronics when applicable.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Participate in estimating, project planning, and change management as needed.
• Assist in recruiting, onboarding, training, and mentoring new team members.
• Promote continuous improvement in operational efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, IICRC standards, and OSHA safety requirements.
