Job summary

HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News, VA is seeking a Construction Supervisor for AOR to define scope, goals, and deliverables supporting build strategy and schedule. You will lead the Unit Outfitting Hall and coordinate with trades to ensure quality and safety standards are met.

The role requires identifying risks, expediting design and material issues, managing overtime and cost drivers, and performing inspections from structural to system turnover, with emphasis on safety

Qualifications

• Must have 5 years Construction Supervisor experience AND PMI or equivalent certification in project management OR
• BS/Apprentice + 8 years combined construction management and production management experience with PMI or equivalent certification

Responsibilities

• Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support build strategy and key event schedule.
• Manage the Unit Outfitting Hall and coordinate with trades’ management to control cost performance within AOR.
• Identify and expedite resolution of design, material, grouping, scheduling, manpower, or other problems risking critical path work.
• Assess growth work or contract funded changes to ensure funding and schedule integration.
• Identify risks and implement contingency plans to keep work on schedule.
• Perform inspections from structural to yard final and system turnover inspections and support release of concealing materials.
