Job summary
Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking a Construction Supervisor to coordinate and oversee all phases of the AOR construction process in a demanding shipbuilding environment. The role requires evaluating risks, ensuring safety standards, and delivering work within contract specifications.
The position is full-time with a first shift. Ideal candidates bring hands-on experience in planning, production control, and engineering-related domains, plus relevant military or civilian
Qualifications
- 3 years Construction Supervisor 1 experience.
- 2 years CS1 experience and 2 years planning/production control experience.
- High School + 6 years production supervisor experience.
- BS/Apprentice + 4 years exempt related experience (Planning, Production Control, Engineering, Construction/Project, Merchant Marine).
- 3 years Military E-6 and above.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise all aspects of the construction process for AOR, defining scope, goals and deliverables.
- Manage project expectations with team members to ensure quality and safety standards and schedule.
- Identify and resolve design, material, scheduling, manpower, or cost issues to protect critical path.
- Liaise with trades’ management to control cost performance and overtime requirements.
