Actalent is seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead on-site delivery of a large K-12 school addition and renovation project. The role oversees field operations, schedule, safety, quality, and budget while coordinating with subcontractors and stakeholders.

The position emphasizes strong leadership, extensive experience with school projects, and hands-on management of trades, MEP coordination, and base building work on a Columbia, MD site with a Virginia project reference.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years on-site superintendent experience on large construction projects.
• Proven track record overseeing large K-12 school projects or comparable large commercial projects.
• Strong command of interior construction for large commercial or institutional buildings.
• Demonstrated expertise in schedule management for complex construction projects.
• Hands-on construction management including field coordination and trade sequencing.
• Experience with subcontractor management, supervision, coordination, and performance oversight.
• Site safety management experience with OSHA requirements.
• Knowledge of MEP coordination and installation for commercial buildings.
• Experience with base building construction, including structural and core elements.
• Ability to manage material ordering and logistics to support schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day on-site construction activities for a large K-12 school addition and renovation project in Virginia.
• Develop, maintain, and manage the overall construction schedule, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
• Oversee construction management activities, including planning, sequencing, and coordination of all trades and field operations.
• Direct and supervise subcontractors on site, ensuring quality, productivity, and adherence to plans.
• Coordinate material ordering, delivery, and inventory to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.
• Implement and enforce site safety programs, including OSHA requirements.
• Manage base building construction and interior construction activities for large commercial project components.
• Oversee MEP coordination and installation for integration with building systems.
• Monitor project progress and proactively address schedule/quality/site logistics issues.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment on goals.
• Support budget management by aligning field activities with cost objectives.
• Review drawings and specifications to ensure correct execution on site.
• Maintain thorough project documentation related to scheduling, coordination, safety, and site activities.
