Job summary

O'Brien Construction is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on a ground-up project in Bettendorf, IA, with future work across Iowa. You will oversee schedules, safety, and client relations, coordinating with subcontractors and inspectors to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires 7+ years in commercial or multi-family construction, strong leadership, and a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and life-safety considerations for senior living

Qualifications

• HS diploma required; Bachelor's in Construction Management preferred.
• 7+ years experience as a Superintendent on commercial or multi-family building projects.
• Working knowledge of regulatory requirements, inspections, and life-safety in senior living construction.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate teams.

Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to project plans, specs, contracts, and requirements.
• Develop and implement comprehensive project schedules with milestones.
• Serve as primary point of contact for subcontractors and inspectors.
• Maintain safe work environment by enforcing safety regulations and proactively managing risk.
• Manage resources including materials, equipment, and manpower.
• Conduct regular inspections of subcontractor work for compliance.
• Prepare and submit daily progress reports and weekly Look Ahead schedules.
• Communicate project status and potential issues to Project Managers.
