Job summary

O'Brien Construction is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to work with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Estimators on a ground-up project in Bettendorf, IA, and other Iowa work. You will help develop schedules, control documents, coordinate subcontractors, and support estimating while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and plans.
• Manage document control, including submittals, RFIs, and meeting minutes.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure timely material deliveries and resolve issues.
• Assist with estimating extra work and expediting project tasks.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Proactively identify and resolve project challenges.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.
• Participate in the Job Rotation Program across construction disciplines.

About the Role:

Project Engineers at O'Brien Construction work alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, and Estimators to support the successful execution of construction projects, from pre-construction through final completion and close-out. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer ready to take ownership of project details and contribute to work that is delivered on time, on budget, and built to a high standard. This role will support an upcoming ground-up project in Bettendorf, IA with additional work to follow across the state of Iowa.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and plans.
• Manage document control, including submittals, RFIs, and meeting minutes.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure timely material deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Assist with estimating extra work, preparing correspondence, and expediting project tasks.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and quality standards.
• Proactively identify and resolve project challenges.
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
• Participate in the Job Rotation Program to gain valuable experience in various construction disciplines (Assistant Superintendent, Assistant Estimator, Assistant Project Manager).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
