The Weitz Company is hiring a Project Safety Manager for a Des Moines, IA project. You will lead site safety, ensure adherence to safety programs, and coordinate trainings and audits across the project team.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of construction safety experience and OSHA 30 certification, with strong communication and organizational skills to drive a culture of safety on the jobsite.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30 certification required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the creation of the project safety plan.
• Track and trend project safety performance and recommend corrective measures.
• Verify project team adherence to safety management processes.
• Assist project teams with enforcement of safety programs.
• Facilitate project safety committees.
• Participate in safety preconstruction meetings and planning.
• Conduct or facilitate project-wide safety training.
• Support regulatory safety compliance.
• Coordinate safety inspections and corrective actions.
• Ensure authority to stop unsafe work when needed.
• Review incident investigations and How It Happened reports.
• Maintain site safety documentation.
