Job summary

Grassi is seeking an experienced Construction Controller to lead project accounting for large-scale commercial efforts in Elmont, NY. The role focuses on job cost coding, complex billings, and contract administration across multiple departments to protect profitability.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction accounting, expertise in AIA billing, and proficiency with CMiC/ProContractor/Procore. Strong Excel skills and detail orientation are essential for success in this high-volume

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of construction accounting, project accounting, or related construction financial management experience.
• Proven experience on large-scale commercial projects valued at $100 million or more.
• Proficiency with CMiC, ProContractor or similar ERP systems; Procore preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills with PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and modelling.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily project accounting operations, including job cost coding and tracking, reconciliations, and close support.
• Monitor project costs, billings, commitments, change orders, forecasts, and profitability, flagging risks.
• Prepare, manage, and reconcile monthly owner requisitions/payment applications per contract.
• Review subcontractor AIA G702/G703 payments, including percent complete, retainage, and change orders.
• Ensure subcontractor billings and owner requisitions are properly supported and on schedule.
