Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED plus four years of experience in construction inspection or related structures maintenance.
• Or six months of sub-professional engineering experience plus four years of construction inspection experience.
• Or 24 semester hours in architecture, construction management, or related fields.
• Or a bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, construction management, or construction technology.
• Or possession of an engineer intern certificate.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a primary lead worker in a DOTD Project Engineer's Office and is responsible for contract administration on various roadways, bridges, or other public works projects.
• Quality assurance inspections of contractors’ work to ensure conformance with contract documents, plans and specifications, via supervision of a team of inspectors.
• Serves as DOTD's principal representative on construction projects with frequent contact with contractor personnel, DOTD/FHWA employees, and the public; exercises independent judgment on standards and practices.
• Lead worker and functional supervisor for daily project operations.
