About this position:
The overall function of this position is responsible for assisting professional engineer and/or higher-level inspectors in the performance of construction inspection work. This position is located in District 61, Unit 266/East Baton Rouge Parish of the Department of Transportation and Development and reports directly to the Construction Inspector Supervisor. This position is subject to drug testing per LADOTD policies and work shift work such as nights, evenings, weekends, and rotating. This position requires a class E driver's license and may work in extreme weather or hazardous conditions. The incumbent must be self-motivated and be able to perform duties many times with or without minimal supervision and also be able to interpret unforeseen conditions as they may arise. The incumbent will participate in appropriate DOTD structured training programs as appropriate and attend all continuing education classes and conferences deemed necessary to facilitate the performance of required tasks.
Possession of a high school diploma or GED; OR
Six months of experience in sub-professional engineering, heavy mobile equipment operation, or mobile equipment maintenance.
