Job summary

City of New Orleans is seeking a Construction Inspector Supervisor to oversee inspection activities on diverse public works projects. The role ensures compliance with contract plans, specifications, codes, safety regulations, and monitors daily progress across earthwork, paving, utilities, and structural work.

Applicants should possess a high school diploma or GED, plus required university coursework or a bachelor’s degree in architecture/engineering/construction tech, with relevant experience

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years (60 semester hours) of university training in architecture, engineering, or construction technology, with 24 semester hours in related curriculum.
• Three (3) years of full-time experience in architecture, engineering or building construction involving inspection, designing, grading or building.
• Alternative pathway: Bachelor's Degree in architecture, engineering, historic preservation, or construction technology with two years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Construction Inspectors on public works projects to ensure compliance with contract plans, specs, codes, and safety regulations.
• Monitor daily construction activities and overall project progress.
• Inspect earthwork, paving, roadways, utilities, concrete, coatings, pile driving, electrical systems, lighting, signals, and related infrastructure.
