Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to lead field inspections across electrical, mechanical/HVAC, structural and site civil disciplines at our Louisiana projects.

You will read and interpret drawings, document observations, and mentor junior staff while coordinating with Project Managers and other field personnel. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 5+ years in construction inspection, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; substitution allowed with 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of construction inspection experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Strong written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Active participant in our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate familiarity with a broad spectrum of construction materials, methods and processes for buildings and facilities.
• Conduct inspection of electrical, mechanical/HVAC, structural and site civil.
• Mentor junior field staff and provide supervision as needed.
• Collaborate with other field representatives or Project Managers.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents.
• Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses.
• Serve as the most senior inspector on projects as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
