Job summary

Metro Consulting Associates LLC is seeking a highly experienced Construction Engineer III to lead technical aspects of diverse projects in Michigan. You will coordinate field and office staff, ensure permits and plans are in place, and monitor quality, safety, budget, and schedule.

The role requires substantial field leadership, familiarity with civil infrastructure standards, and ability to communicate with clients and municipal officials across complex construction programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is required.
• Minimum 15 years of construction field experience leading inspection crews.
• Experience with NASSCO standards and municipal standards is preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret specifications and plans with accuracy.
• Strong communication and leadership skills for cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical aspects of multiple construction projects and liaise between field and office staff.
• Ensure permits and approved plans for site layouts, grading, utilities, stormwater, and street improvements.
• Oversee QA/QC, contract administration, and progress reporting.
• Coordinate with contractors and city departments; manage safety and adherence to standards.
• Prepare reports, bid documents, and project specifications.
• Develop schedules, estimates, and allowables; lead progress meetings and reviews.
