Job summary

Ritsema Associates in Michigan is seeking an experienced Construction Field Foreman to lead field laborers and carpenters on commercial projects. You will coordinate daily operations, review scope with the Superintendent, Estimator, and Project Manager, and ensure safety and quality workmanship on site.

The role requires strong leadership, planning, and communication skills, with hands-on oversight of labor scheduling, tool use, and material coordination across multiple job sites.

Qualifications

• Experience leading field crews on commercial construction projects.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily on-site operations to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Conduct startup meetings with Superintendent, Estimator, and Project Manager to review labor needs and project scope.
• Facilitate daily huddles and toolbox talks to set goals and monitor progress.
• Evaluate team performance and adjust plans based on daily outcomes.
• Manage crew scheduling and communicate labor needs in advance.
• Accurately record and track all labor hours.
• Coordinate material, equipment, and scaffolding needs and place orders.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite.
• Serve as primary on-site contact for the general contractor’s Foreman or Project Manager.
• Attend weekly progress meetings and represent the company professionally.
